On June 25, 2026, the U.S. Navy marked a historic milestone in naval aviation history. A pair of Grumman C-2A Greyhounds attached to the "Rawhides" of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 40 (VRC-40) executed the last ever arrested landings ("traps") and catapult launches ("cats") of a Greyhound from an active U.S. Navy aircraft carrier.

This monumental final ride took place in the Atlantic Ocean aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68)—the oldest operating supercarrier in the fleet.
