Have you ever used a rogue's gallery in a tabletop RPG campaign instead of one big bad?
It wasn't until just recently that I learned that the term 'rogue's gallery' gets it name from being a real set of photographs of known criminals, used to identify suspects.
But if you're a fan of comics and other mediums like it, you'll likely know the term rogue's gallery to loosely mean "the set of villains that typically oppose a specific hero."
For instance, Spider-Man often faces off with the likes Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Venom and Mysterio, while Daredevil is typically pitted against Kingpin, Bullseye, and Elektra.
You don't often see Superman trying to stop the Joker from committing a terrible crime, and you don't typically see Batman hunting down Lex Luthor (though when it does happen, it can make for some terrific, interesting stories-- but that's a topic for another time).
So what if we made a rogue's gallery for your tabletop RPG campaign setting? And dropped them into your game's the world, each terrorizing a piece of it?
