A team of marine inspectors from Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston saved a dog that was trapped inside one of the containers on January 31, 2024 near Houston, Texas.

MST3 Bryan Qainscott, MST1 Lucas Loe, MST2 Ryan McMahon, and MST3 Jose Reyes were inspecting containers aboard the cargo ship when they heard barking and scratching. When they opened the container a dog popped out!

Dubbing the pup Connie the Container Dog, the team gave her water and many pets before taking her to a local animal shelter safe and sound.
