US to economically isolate Iran with sanctions  @cgtnamerica

The U.S. announced a new round of sanctions against Iran on Monday, Aug. 24, as talks between Washington and Tehran reached an impasse.

The threat has already impacted Iran's fragile economy, with the rial dropping sharply to new lows following the announcement.

Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an opinion piece for the Financial Times on Sunday, Aug. 23, that the U.S. was entering a supposed "endgame" in its conflict with Iran. He added that "total financial isolation" would make force unnecessary against Iran.
