After the US defeated Spain in the Spanish-American War, the Philippines became a US territory. The US Mint produced silver Pesos for the Philippines. These Pesos were struck at the San Francisco and Philadelphia Mints. Charles Barber designed this Peso. The obverse depicts Lady Liberty striking a hammer into an anvil. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle. Pesos dated 1903-1906 contain 27 grams of 90% silver. Pesos dated 1907-1912 contain 20 grams of 80% silver.
