AlboPepper - Drought Proof Urban Gardening | Urban Gardening: Fruit Trees -Year 2 Growth Update + Summer Pruning @Albopepper | Uploaded September 2015 | Updated October 2024, 17 hours ago.
In the late Winter / early Spring I majorly pruned back my peaches and apricot trees. This video shows a nice Mid-Summer update of the growth of my fruit trees. Some of the growth was actually very aggressive and required proactive size management.

There is a lot to learn, especially if you are trying to grow multiple varieties of fruit trees. I have 3 types of asian pears (grafted into a single espalier form), 2 apples (columnars), 2 peaches and 1 apricot! Each requires specialized attention, but I'm slowly getting up to speed! LOL

These are backyard orchard fruit trees that work for small space or urban gardens. High density plantings might slightly decrease yield, but they increase variety and manageability.

I'm excited because in my 2nd year I've already gotten 14 apples and my very 1st peach!!! yum!

You can compare last year's growth by watching my earlier video:
