A 16-year-old was shot and killed Friday night while heading home from a high school football game in North Nashville, leaving his family and community mourning his death.
Metro Nashville Police reported Cameron Frierson was walking with his younger brother around 10:30 p.m. after a football game at Pearl-Cohn High School, when someone in a white sedan with tinted windows opened fire.
Witnesses told officers the shooting happened as the brothers walked past Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church near the school off Herman Street, well after the game ended and the crowds cleared out.
“We just heard boom, boom, boom," described neighbor Freddie Dunlap, who has lived on the block for 37 years and said it's mostly always quiet.
