My questionable success casting the soap dish led me to some improvement ideas to help make it easier. I modified the mold cavity to make the casting section thicker, both to avoid metal solidifying too early, and also stop the ejector pins punching through it instead of ejecting. As for the molding press, I added an impact wrench adapter, so opening and closing would be faster, and built a sturdy base to provide leverage. Whilst machining the mold, I got to try out my friend's upgraded CNC mill, now controllable by a Playstation controller!
