This is an updated version of a video I made a couple years ago. This newer video shows more information about the operation, including how it operates when only one crosswalk is activated. Traffic was fairly light so I was not able to catch a car actively yielding to me, but the signal phasing is pretty clear.
After doing more research, it appears that the left-turn FYA is activate during the walk cycle simultaneous to the oncoming green phase. Those turning left, then, must also yield to traffic turning right (despite the sign asking drivers only to yield to pedestrians). I did not notice this before.
