It was a hot summer day in July, and Timmy Uppet was having a blast driving the white and green skid steer on his grandpa's farm. He had been learning how to drive it for the past few weeks, and he was finally starting to get the hang of it.
Timmy loved the feeling of being in control of the big machine. He would drive it around the yard, lifting and lowering the bucket, pretending to be a construction worker. He would even make up stories about all the things he would build with the skid steer when he grew up.
One day, Timmy was driving the skid steer around the yard when he saw a big rock. He decided to try to lift it with the bucket. He carefully maneuvered the skid steer over to the rock and lowered the bucket.
"Up!" Timmy said, and the bucket lifted the rock into the air. Timmy was so excited! He had never lifted anything so heavy before.
"Down!" Timmy said, and the bucket lowered the rock back to the ground. Timmy smiled. He had learned the words up and down!
Timmy continued to play with the skid steer for the rest of the day. He lifted and lowered the bucket, he drove it around the yard, and he even made up a few more stories about all the things he would build when he grew up.
By the end of the day, Timmy was exhausted, but he was also very happy. He had had so much fun driving the skid steer, and he had even learned a few new words.
"Thank you, Grandpa," Timmy said as he climbed out of the skid steer. "I had a lot of fun today."
"You're welcome," Grandpa said. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, Im hungry."
Timmy waved goodbye to Grandpa and headed inside for a snack. He couldn't wait to come back out and play with the skid steer again tomorrow.
As Timmy ate his snack, he thought about all the fun he had had that day. He had learned how to drive the skid steer, he had lifted a big rock, and he had even learned a few new words. But most importantly, he had had a lot of fun.
Timmy smiled. He knew that he would never forget his day on the skid steer.
