The Lancaster County Coroner confirmed the cause of one of the highly debated "measles-associated" deaths in the county.
The coroner said an infant died of a lacerated spleen, not measles, but did test positive for the disease.
"At the time of the autopsy, we did obtain some tissue from the newborn and sent it for PCR testing that did confirm the presence of measles. But measles was not the cause of death," Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said.
