Unnamed Sprinkler Group geyser next to Impatient Miser Geyser
Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano in northwestern Wyoming, USA.
The Sprinkler Group is located ~north of the Fountain Group in Yellowstone’s Lower Geyser Basin. The group consists of numerous small hot springs, small to moderately small fountain-type geysers, and one cone-type geyser - most are unnamed. The video clip seen here shows an unnamed Sprinkler Group geyser erupting in August 2025. On 1 August and 8 August 2025, it was erupting for most of the day, but was seen off at times. On 14 August 2025, it was seen erupting all afternoon.
The unnamed geyser (UNNG) is located on the southwestern side of Impatient Miser Geyser's basin in the northwestern Angle Complex. The geyser’s vent shows up best on the April 2015 and August 2015 satellite photos on Google Earth. On the 2016 satellite photo, it is subtly visible, at 44° 33' 15.05" North latitude, 110° 48' 41.43" West longitude.
On the still photos at the beginning of the video, “Little Miser Geyser” is my nickname for an otherwise-unnamed geyser just southeast of Impatient Miser Geyser. The name is in reference to its location between Impatient Miser Geyser and Little Crack Geyser.
