Roundbeargames | Unity 2.5D Platformer - Indie Game Devlog #1 @Roundbeargames | Uploaded October 2019 | Updated October 2024, 2 minutes ago.
You might notice that things look almost identical from what I had last year: youtu.be/o3wvP0JRmbc
I restarted the project because I wanted to record the entire process so people can use it as a tutorial.
One big difference is that code is cleaner and more modular, so it's easier for me to swap out the character models and background.
Other than the Synty Studio asset, this is the same scene from my tutorial video #168: youtu.be/6fefy-9SESE
You can download everything here:

In the next devlog, I'll try a new background to make things look fresh.
AI isn't perfect. I still have some work to do.
Here's a list of what I have in this video:
- Using LWRP (lightweight render pipeline)
- AI pathfinding
- Attack system / combo system
- Running, walking, jumping transitions (rolling, sliding, turning, etc)
- Ledge grabbing
- Ragdoll physics
- Using assets from Synty Studios
- Particle effects
