Unholy is a Finnish Death/Black/Doom/Avantgarde (?) metal band founded in Imatra, Finland 1988 ( The band was formerly known as "Holy Hell" but it changed it's name in '90. Under former name, the band released an independent demo "Kill Jesus"'89). When Unholy's first demos, untitled demo and "Procession of Black Doom" came out in distribution during the DM boom in early 90's, the style of Unholy was simply too artistic and original for the mainstream death metallers even in Finland. The EP/demo "Trip to Depressive Autumn"'91 however got much good response from the death metal fans and they got signed to Lethal records. Through Lethal records they released their first full-length "From the Shadows"'93 which boldly followed it's own muscial paths. Album never managed to be a hit in DM markets and the deal with the record company began to shatter aswell. Finally the deal was broken and Unholy signed to Avantgarde records. In 1994, band recorded their second album "The Second Ring of Power" which was experimentally taken even further that it's predecessor , using violins, more female vocs and keyborads was the work that the band's members were most satisfied with. However, once again, band's work did not manage to impress mainstream Death metallers and the album had controversial welcoming. This led the band in many problems with the record company as well as themselves. The band was eventually put on-hold. When the band had finally recovered from the loss in 1996 , they had plans for new material and a next album. '97 They got again signed to Avantgarde records and started to working with the next album "Rapture" which was released in 1998 and is considered their most heaviest album, by still not exploring any new musical fields. The next year, the fourth and till this date, the last album, "Gracefallen"'99 was released. The album conquered the kind of muscial dimensions in which Unholy had never been before. The line-uo went through some chances, changing the female vocalist, but still Unholy was planning tours and rehearsing for live shows. in 2001 the problems started again. Their deal with Avantgarde music expired and their female vocalist was kicked out. New record company was found, as well as new female vocalist, but only few days from that, band finally split-up, announcing that "Everything went wrong".
In 2009 the band reunited once again, and are now doing gigs and preparing for the recordings of a new album.
The song is taken from "From the Shadows" of 1993.
Lyrics :
I'm trying to visualize the dream where Gadrel stands tall
Gaze bends in purple wind
My emotions come slower
Sight of my experience arrived !
Power of storms shows the vision
Covering the past
Call of attractive genius
Return to my everlasting consciousness
The consequence of needlessness is direct and dominating
The dream needs the one to escort the self through every essentiality
Ideal self: creative and lunatic
Real self: multicoloured
Oh, come to my dream Lilith
Ideal self: creative and lunatic

![Amorphis - Intro: Karelia / The Gathering
Amorphis was/is a Finnish Death metal band formed in 1990, by a few ex-members of another Death metal group :Abhorrence, The band recorded the demo Disment of Soul in 1991, and got immediately signed to Relapse ( greatly due to the PR made by Abhorrence ). a single and and their first full-length Karelian Isthmus was released in 1992. The album was recorded in 1992 in Sunlight Studios of Stockholm and with assistance of Tomas Skogsberg. The songs recorded in 1991 in Helsinki were featured on the Privilege of Evil EP released in 1993 ( the EP was originally ment to release as a split-album with Incantation but due to some problems, Incantations side wasnt released until 2008 ). The second album Tales from the Thousand Lakes released in 1994 represented the new musical world of Amorphis, with more extensive use of keyboards, melody and folk music influenced guitar riffs. In 1995, all the rest of the songs ,that didnt fit on the full-length ,were released on Black Winter Day EP . Tales from the Thousand lakes has also been considered one of the founding stones of Melodic Death Metal. The lyrical themes of the band also changed during the Tales . . . album, and the songs have been inspired by the tales of Finnish epic Kalevala ever since. In 1996 released third album of the band Elegy had fallen even deeper to progressive experimenting both in guitars and keyboards and the music had more folk tendencies.

Lyrics:
[lyrics: E. Holopainen]
[music: T. Koivusaari E. Holopainen]
The sound of thousand warriors
The fields of thousand battles
Still, in our hearts we can hear
the great hymn of Karelia.
The Gathering
[lyrics: E. Holopainen]
[music: T. Koivusaari]
As I sense their steel,
As I see the mighty one,
As we all gather once again
the gods of war summon us...
summon us
North wind blows to our valley
men with ships, with swords, with honour
Their horses between flames,
their dogs eating enemy childs,
Our heavenly father, what is this mortality,
do you see my mortal agony
Look, I see the shield up high
this must be the sign from my lord
this can be my death - sentence
what a fine day to die
Taste of blood comes up high
Wind blows hard, our men fall...
one by one
This oath claims me
I must bleed for my generation
Strong is the enemy,
strong is my sword
the hammer is rising
I feel their cold steel
Now when I leave this world
I shall open the mighty oaken gate
and we all shall gather once again Amorphis - Intro: Karelia / The Gathering](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/2wnVwbJQr0k/mqdefault.jpg)
