Ok so I was eliminated in round 1 so I didn't participate in round 2. But then I was revived so yay :)
The tournament has been cancelled from what I gather, which is a shame cause despite some stress and confusion it was still really fun to be a part of. This layout wasn't finished due to that, my part was supposed to be twice as long as it is right now.
If I understand correctly though it's gonna start again when 2.2 drops, which would be fun :)
The prompt for round 3 was "Tag Team". For the round all participants where divided into 4 teams of 4, so instead of competing against everyone else, every group competes against each other. Each team must make a full layout that follows a theme and/or gimmick. Each team got a chosen team leader as well.
I didn't involve myself much with organizing the team, because it was the middle of the summer and I was quite busy with non-GD stuff. I let the rest of the team decide, and I just went along with whatever they came up with.
Eventually the team decided to use Viva la Vida (no idea why but it's a nice song I guess lol), and we landed on a dungeon/castle theme, which I tried to represent a little with the structuring in my part.
It was fun to build on this, despite the tournament getting cancelled (for now).

Rebeat cause the old (now deleted) video is garbage lol
Definitely one of (if not) the best levels ive ever played. The gameplay is great and fair, except for maybe 29%-34%, which is kinda inconsistent. And the predrop is a fair bit harder than the rest of the level. The decoration is amazing. I think the pulses is the highlight of the level, they perfectly create this sorta glitchy sci-fi neon atmosphere that is just awesome. The block design is fantastic, though some parts overuse the invisible blocks a bit too much. And the backgrounds are great, while never overtaking the other decoration, except for when it needs to. Overall, this is just a masterpiece of a level.

Wow, this is a long one lmao. I spent all of thursday beating this level, from morning to evening, finally beating at around 10pm after a total of 4556 attempts. Definitely my new hardest.
So, the level.. Its honestly a fantastic level, only brought down by the experience of actually beating it. The gameplay is very unusual and experimental, and it for the most part works flawlessly. The spam at 22% didnt feel great to play, as I fealtit was hard to guess when exactly to stop spamming. The enterance into the 32% dual is sort of inconsistent, sometimes my top cube didnt jump and I dont know why. The cube at around 48 felt very awkward with all the bufferclicking, but it eventually got sort of consistent. The UFO at 68 is very inconsistent, and its very easy to die there. Im extremely lucky i only died there once from 0. The ending after that cube is great though. Very consistent and much easier and less stressful than the rest of the level. Overall, whileactually beating the level was sort of torturous, the level itself is fun and Im glad i decided to play it, at least in retrospect.
The decoration is also weird, but also absolutely incredible. As ulti said near the beginning, the decoration seems like it shouldnt work, but in motion it does. The block designs are not very well polished if you look at them while paused, but when moving so fast it all just works. The effects are also extremely well made, pulsing in and out, syncing perfectly with the music. I feel that the effects are what make this level such a masterpiece. The colors too are great, ranging from red, to gold, to purple. Oh and the song fits perfectly with the level and its theme as well. Absolute banger.
