I bought 4 router Insert Plates, and we’re going to take a detailed look at the three small ones. These plates serve as a support for wood routers. They are perfect for making a small router table with a palm router, as they provide a base to hold these from underneath. I compare the three models, discovering that they are not as similar as they might seem at first glance. There are also some unexpected issues, such as the screws that come with them being too long in some cases. But the most interesting discovery is that the holes in the base of the palm router for anchoring the router plate are not the same distance apart in the front and back. We see how the side fence goes and how it looks with the insert plates installed. We also discuss the lift systems, which are sold separately, and how I think they are installed. These seem to be the perfect router accessories for making a homemade router table, but we must take into consideration a few features before deciding which one to use.
