AMD locked the Ryzen 5 5500X3D, but you can still make it faster, cooler, and more efficient!
In this quick BIOS guide I show how to undervolt the 5500X3D using Curve Optimizer, reduce temperatures, lower power draw, and unlock better boost behavior with Precision Boost Overdrive.
This works on basically any AM4 motherboard, from cheap AliExpress boards to B350, B450, B550, X370, X470 and X570. I also show the safe “set and forget” value, the better sweet spot, and what to try if your CPU is a really good sample.
