Piano ballade I made for piano, violin, cello and string ensemble in FL Studio 21.
I made my first piano ballade on this channel, which was a piano improvisation I played that I arranged and orchestrated afterwards. The name ‘UNDER THE STARS’ came to me due to the feeling of the night the composition gave me. I initially made it into a piano waltz, but the length (and themes) kept increasing – so I decided to go all-in on making it a song with a typical three-act structure. It’s a sort of classical romantic mix of a waltz and ballade with like in my pieces ‘Moonlight’ & ‘Falling Leaves’ the orchestral backing of a more modern piece.

I used FL Studio automation (tempo and volume). Piano is Native Instruments' NOIRE Pure. Violin are the Cinematic Studio Solo Strings. String ensemble vst is also by Cinematic Strings called Cinematic Studio Strings. Cello is the Tina Guo Cello by Cinesamples. I also added atmospheric, ambient plucked piano strings in the background. Mixing & mastering with Valhalla VintageVerb, Fruity Reeverb 2, Soundgoodizer, iZotope Ozone 6 & oeksound soothe2.
