Aussie Garage | Uncovering Peter's diverse collection of ford's. @AussieGarage | Uploaded September 2024 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
On todays episode we head out of Perth into the country and caught up with Peter. Peter has a collection of Fords from both America and Australia. And a mix of oldschool and new. This being the first of 2 episodes we look at 2 cars that mean a lot to Pete. first up is his 1974 Ford Landau coupe. This car was purchased new by Pete's uncle on his mums side, and pre delivered by his uncle on his dads side, and then Pete purchased from his uncle in 1985. Pete loved this car as a kid and never gave up on owning this amazing car. A luxurious coupe with all the GT specs. Running a 351 engine FMX gearbox and 9 inch diff it is a beast and the trim is luxury all the way. It has split buckets in the back with side consoles, GT spec dash and a console and trimmed dash board I haven't seen in any other model of ford. And then there's the Landau flip light front end and rear light set up truly making this a unique car. Not an over popular car in the day but a fantastic look back into the history of these cars. Its even running the factory hubcaps.

So that was the old and now the new. Back in 2007 Pete was living in Canada. It was that time the new mustangs were coming out. being a ford man he decided he might want one of those Mustangs. It wasnt that easy to get your hands on one as there was a huge demand. People were even paying double the market price for other peoples pre orders. Anyway Pete kept looking and he got the opportunity to purchase his dream car. A 2007 Shelby GT 500 supercharged Mustang. Pete enjoyed the mustang for a couple of years in north America. He joined Team Shelby and attended an event at the Shelby factory. There he met the 2 mechanics that assembled his engine and they signed the car under the bonnet. as a bonus ha also attended a dinner where he met Henry Ford the 3rd and he also signed the car. So, When it was time to come back to Australia pete brought the GT500 with him. He had it converted to right hand drive and continued to enjoy the car.

Unfortunately Pete cant get out in the cars anymore due to his diagnoses of MS and is unable to easily get in and out. We are so grateful for Pete having us out and sharing his story and his cars with us. And we wish him all the best.

And don't forget theirs more to come. thanks for watching.
