Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) is a compact, modular version of the Raspberry Pi 4 single board computer for embedded and industrial applications. You can design a carrier board for it with custom hardware peripherals for your specific needs. It will will remain in production until at least January 2034. You can run Raspberry Pi OS and other Linux distributions on it.

![The Yocto Project on Raspberry Pi 5 Episode 13: Bringing Wayland and Weston to Your Embedded Linux
Step-by-step video tutorial how to build a custom embedded Linux distribution for Raspberry Pi using the Yocto Project and OpenEmbedded with Wayland display protocol and the Weston compositor.
* Edit local.conf and add the following lines to the end of the file:
DISTRO_FEATURES:append = pam
RPI_EXTRA_CONFIG:append = n
display_auto_detect=1 n
* Build the image:
bitbake core-image-weston
To rotate Weston on the 7 Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2 add the following sections to /etc/xdg/weston/weston.ini:
[output]
name=DSI-1
mode=720x1280@60
transform=rotate-90
[output]
name=DSI-2
mode=720x1280@60
transform=rotate-90
After that restart the Weston systemd service:
systemctl restart weston
