After unboxing the FEIN VersaMAG Vise 160 L, I immediately mounted it to a 2-foot by 4-foot sheet of 1/4-inch steel on the workbench. With the magnet fully engaged, picking up the vise also lifted the heavy steel plate along with it. I then moved it to the table of the JET JDP-20S Smart Drill Press, where partially engaging the magnet allowed for fine adjustments before locking the vise into place. Once aligned, the vise could be quickly released and repositioned as the 10 holes were drilled. It was a good demonstration of how the vise can be moved and positioned on different magnetizable surfaces without permanently mounting it in one location.
