The 3-D Rarities Blu-ray is a fantastic collection of rare and historic 3-D films, restored and compiled by the 3-D Film Archive. Released by Flicker Alley, this set features an eclectic mix of vintage 3-D content, showcasing how the format evolved from the early days of stereoscopic film making.
Presented in high-quality digital 3-D, all films have been stunningly restored and mastered direct from archival materials. Meticulously aligned shot by shot for precise registration of the original left/right elements, these historic 3-D motion pictures have never before looked this good.
The set includes a variety of 3-D shorts, test reels, and experimental footage dating back as early as 1922.
Notable Inclusions: Highlights include New Dimensions (a 3-D short produced for the 1940 World’s Fair), Doom Town (a fascinating look at atomic bomb testing in 3-D), and Motor Rhythm (a dazzling automotive promotional film from Chrysler).
