It’s summer and the sun is shining on the U of M System
The School of Nursing received $1.3M to create cutting-edge virtual reality simulation learning
Our Institute on Community Integration is part of a $3M grant to connect Minnesotans with disabilities to better jobs and higher pay
The Minnesota Invasive Terrestrial Pests and Plants Center received $6M to support invasive species research across Minnesota
The Medical School received $18.8M to provide AEDs to Minnesota’s law enforcement and first responders
And the Med School received $66M to develop drug treatments for future viral pandemics
And our world-class research isn’t letting up
We began a first-in-human clinical trial for advanced solid-tumor cancers
Our researchers created a technology that allows amputees to control a robotic arm with their mind
And we published research showing how wolf behaviors can alter wetlands
We’re taking time to celebrate, too…
We hosted our inaugural Juneteenth Celebration and Commemorative March on June 18
And the entire U of M System was represented at this year's Twin Cities Pride Festival
And we’re celebrating our people
U of M Crookston recognized faculty/staff distinguished award recipients for 2021-22
Rahel Nardos was named a 2022 Bush Fellow
U of M Duluth’s Master of Tribal Administration and Governance program presented its first-ever alumni award to Mary Otto
U of M Morris's Jana Koehler was named co-recipient of the President’s Award from the Minnesota Association of Financial Aid Administrators
And the Strada Education Network featured U of M Rochester’s NXT GEN MED as a leading example of a faster, lower-cost, world-class degree
And to make sure the sun shines even brighter on the next generation…
