‘A revolutionary revue overflowing with colourful splendour’, describes rbb journalist Kai Luehrs-Kaiser Umberto Giordano's ANDREA CHENIER at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. The title character, based on historical models, is impressively brought to life by director John Dew, set designer Peter Sykora and costume designer José Manuel Vázquez in the theatre, capturing the climate of terror and pathos that characterised the French Revolution.
