University of Dayton Professor Sean Cassiman wrote a piece this week for mostmetro.com in which she took on the idea of voting for a third-party candidate in this upcoming election. Cassiman says that until outside parties are successful running candidates in less sexy local elections, a strategy that worked to help build the Republican Party, that the two-party duopoly will continue unabated.
