Tyranids do not have a typical builder unit. The race was designed to simulate buildings being dropped from the hive fleet.

There is a builder unit, per se, but it is invisible, has no sight range, and cannot be killed. You may drop buildings anywhere you have sight range, there is no zone of control. The default button to builder cycle/select builder is a period. You may also click the brain icon in the center portion of your HUD. The nasal section will hide the HUD, so take care or use the hotkey. Hotkeys may be rebound for ease of use by editing the keydefault.lua file.

I pre-reinforced my ravenors here and then reloaded them to deepstrike. Two squads of ravenors would be superior, but I typically run up against the squad cap. Its preferable to tech up to tier II than to build a gauntii hive.
