Drive like a Texan is proud to bring you TxDOT Stories, a series celebrating exceptional department employees whose work keeps Texas moving safely. In Galveston, Texas, the road eventually comes to an end. That's where Kelly Kline, a ferry boat captain, takes the wheel. It’s important that her passengers have fun and come back for another ride, which she knows will only happen if they feel safe and secure on board. Safety always comes first.

Drive like a Texan: Kind. Courteous. Safe. is TxDOT’s newest safety initiative inspiring drivers to embrace the pride, camaraderie, and responsibility of being a Texan on the road. By making thoughtful choices, we can all help keep each other safe.
