You just need a damage source, and you can do it.

There's a slight bit where before you die, you can do actions like talking, or in this case, jumpslashing, backflipping, or sidehopping. Every one of them gets you off the ground while dead, and therefore you can Zombie Hover.

THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH A FAIRY.
