"Is that Times Square?" "No, this is Macy's." Playbill and Macys teamed up with the cast of Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York) April 3 for a special pop-up performance. The production's leads, Sam Tutty and Christiani Pitts, made their way from the Longacre Theatre to the iconic and 125-year-old Macy’s in Herald Square to celebrate the opening of Macy’s annual flower show. In the first floor of the department store, the duo treated the visitors to three songs from the new musical: “New York,” “This is the Place,” and “If I Believed." Watch in the video above.
This year’s Macy’s flower show runs from April 23-May 10 at Herald Square, under the theme Homegrown. In celebration of the start of spring and the United States’ 250th Anniversary, guests are invited to enter Macy's Hand-Crafted Homegrown Greenhouse. By embracing the stores roots and embodying the excellence of hand-crafted American handiwork, 2026's flower show will be sure to inspire as the store weaves together Macy’s Beauty Department with beautiful florals and fibers.
