Welcome to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. I was so excited to dock in Rio where we could see the famous Christ the Redeemer Statue from our balcony! In two days, we saw all the top iconic highlights of Rio. We began at Sugar Loaf Mountain where we took the cable car to the top for spectacular views of Rio, Christ the Redeemer, Copacabana Beach and Ipanema Beach. The panoramic view from the second cable car stop is not to be missed! We drove by the famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, which were packed due to fantastic sunny, hot weather. The next day, we took a 4 X 4 tour through the largest urban park in the world, Tijuca Forest. While walking to a beautiful waterfall, I was amazed at the peace and tranquility in the middle of the big city. Next, we went to another area to visit the famous Christ the Redeemer statue with stunning views of Sugarloaf Mountain and Rio De Janeiro. It is worth the over 200 steps to the base of the statue! Along the way, we saw Guanabara Bay and one of the largest stadiums in the world, the Maracana Stadium. From the bus and 4 x 4, we took in sights of the city. It's an unforgettable city full of iconic highlights.
