Our cruise left Japan for a stop in Busan, South Korea, What a fabulous place with SO much to do. We used Korea Discovery Tour @KoreaDiscoveryTour to plan our day and there were so many options, it was overwhelming. With the tour company's help, we narrowed it down to seeing Busan from above in several ways and visiting a temple that, unusually, is on the seafront.
Our day started at Headong Younggunsa Temple, a gorgeous temple in a stunning location. There were sea views and a bamboo forest area surrounding the temple. We then rode the adorable Busan Sky Capsule. A small capsule on rails, it goes by woodland areas that go all the way to the sea. From it, you can see an walkway over the water and a boardwalk beside the expansive beach. After a while, Busan city comes into view. What a great ride! We saw more of Busan and the entire surrounding area from Busan X the SKY observation deck. The pristine beaches and mountains around the city are incredible. We also enjoyed the view from an unusual place - the toilet! And enjoyed a Starbucks coffee at the World's Highest Starbucks. We then moved on to lunch and some of the tastiest chicken and cheese, I want to try some of the ideas at home! Korean fried chicken was delicious! After a a drive by Gawangalli Beach, was tasted Momos Coffee, voted best in Korean. I had a chamomile, coconut and oat milk coffee that was out of this world. It's ranking is well-deserved. Our last stop was Busan Air Cruise, a cable car over the water with breathtaking city and water views. What a day!
We got back to the ship and were allowed on the front deck as we left Busan, going under the bridge and seeing the magnificent views one more time.
