Her first release, Forget About Me, was written by her and produced by Holland, Dozier, Holland. It was not a hit, but remains a Northern Soul favorite, especially for fans of the Motown Sound. The Twistin' Kings were actually the house band (A.K.A The Funk Brothers). This recording was made in 1961 and released as Motown 1023. The song is NOT a song that you would twist to, but has an Afro-Cuban jazz feel that the musicians most likely played in the clubs around Detroit.
