The Twin Sisters Peak, elevation 8738', is located about half way between Boulder and Nederland in the Roosevelt National Forest. Unlike its more famous namesake in RMNP, this peak sees very few visitors. I hiked it a day after a major snow storm that dumped 1-2ft of snow in this area, and had to break trail on the approach to the summit. The summit was well worth the effort though, with unobstructed view of the Front Range to the west, and all the popular peaks near Boulder to the east. Total stats from Forsythe Canyon TH: 5.5 miles with 1100ft elevation gain
