This is an updated tutorial from one that I did in the past. This shows my personal technique I have used for a long time to take the FLV files given to you from Xsplit and convert them into a MKV file.
These MKV files can be easily split into smaller duration videos without needing any kind of editor like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere, so this tutorial is very useful for some people.
The first part talks about why the FLV format is not desirable and why we need to change it, and also why people had issues with audio sync once they did change the format over using the old tutorial or standard conversion programs.
The first MAIN DIFFERENCE between my tutorial and any conversion program you may find online is that we are not CONVERTING anything in our video, we are not encoding the video again to a new format so we are not losing quality and we are not having to waist time waiting for it to convert.
The video is already compressed and compressing it again to covert it will result in very bad quality loss and a waist of time. We are simply keeping our original RAW video and audio and placing it in a new container that is much better than the FLV container.
This tutorial also includes a bonus tip on how to recover corrupted XSplit recordings that happened from your game or computer crashing while recording, so I hope that helps atleast one person.
