The Tusi Sites is an unusual and interesting UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in Hunan province, this site showcases locations relating to the Tusi system of government where the emperor in Beijing would appoint a location tribal chief, known as a Tusi. This Tusi was answerable to both his people and the emperor, and it meant that tribal customs and local culture could be retained without compromising the empire's overall stability. We haven't really visited a site like it, so let's check it out!
