I am using my foot operated pole lathe to turn the bodies of the Dutch dolls aka Grodnertal aka Penny Woodens. I show how my pole lathe works, and the purpose made turning chisels that I use.
I am turning birch wood. This is an ideal set up for off grid wood turning, and in fact even if you are on grid, its still a very good way of turning freshly felled wood.
In this series I am making some Dutch Dolls, showing the techniques and the tools that I use. I am using freshly felled greenwood throughout, and I explaining some of the greenwood working techniques as I go.
