hi everyone, long time no see ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ in today's video i'm turning myself into a mengqi drawing, using only makeup! mengqi is an artist who i discovered on instagram a few weeks ago, and i instantly fell in love...so naturally i wanted to turn one of their artworks into a makeup look.
gotta say i enjoyed the challenge. doing calligraphy on your face isn't easy!

NYX double stacked mascara
EYLURE grand glamour lashes customized with paper
NYX gel eyeliner mixed with duraline to make it run more like ink
LORAC PRO 2 palette cool gray eyeshadow
the white blending brushes are from chikuhodo (gsn-10). all of my smaller, more detailed brushes with black handles are either from coastal scents or morphe. the blue liner brush is a kryolan round 5 face painting brush.

♫ ♥¸.•* Makeup ♫ ♥¸.•*
For this look I wanted to create something inspired by impressionism, which was an art movement that interested me a lot in high school. The main thing I enjoyed was that up close, it looked very sloppy and it was hard to see what the subject was about. View it from afar though and the picture becomes more clear, and all of those brush strokes come together to create a cohesive piece.
So I decided to do this technique on my face, sticking with mostly a yellow palette and only using cream makeup to create it. To decide where to place shadows and light, I simply referenced where I usually placed contours and highlights when I do my normal makeup. Other than that, its actually pretty simple. This was actually one of my shortest makeup looks to date - it took me an hour to complete it.
I only used cream paints from the Make Up Flash Palette for this look, but this isnt necessary. I do like these paints because they are thicker than other paints, however.

The A-True Black Tea CC Cream cushion is a favorite of mine because it helps even out skin tone without feeling like youre wearing makeup. This comes in two colors, a warm-toned color and a cool-toned color. I am wearing the warm-toned color, True Beige. Ive been wearing this for a month and Im quite happy with it, makes me look flawless and makes my skin look soft.
