In a wide-reaching conversation, Dr McManus talks about how football fandom draws on ties of family, class, ethnicity and community belonging in Türkiye, the role football plays in constructions of masculinity and gender performance, efforts to make football more inclusive to women and marginalised groups, and concludes by offering tips on writing books aimed at popular audiences and how academics can reach out more to public audiences.
