Our tunnel boring machines (TBMs) have begun their 6.8km journey to create the West Gate Tunnel - providing a much needed alternative to the West Gate Bridge.

But this project is more than just a tunnel, with widening works on the West Gate Freeway now 70% complete, new Hyde St ramps well underway, new connections from the CBD rising off the ground and 14kms of new walking & cycling paths on the way.
