When 3D printing, we use rules of thumb relating to temperature, spee, extrusion width etc to find a balance between strength and appearance. But how do we actually know if a part is strong enough? Enter the Golem3D Power Test and Kraken testing apparatus.

Golem3D previously reached out and asked me if I would like to cover their testing parts and methodology. I was unable to build the Kraken as originally designed, so I adopted the mechanism to suit the 20 series extrusion that I had spare. In this video, I take you through how to build your own Kraken (optional), and how the Power Test model can be used to fine tune your printer.

Thanks to Michal and Joanna from Golem3D in Poland for creating this testing system.
