I always use 100% cotton denim char cloth. I’ve found it to be very flint and steelable and makes bigger hotter longer lasting coals. Let’s make some 100% cotton t-shirt char cloth and see if it just as flint and steel ignitable.
I also wanted to try cooking the char cloth with my tin buried up in coals. I’ll be breaking out the disc end grain fire board again to start the bow drill friction fire. Just a reminder, the “disc” is Tulip Poplar and I’ll be using a Tulip Poplar spindle.
