About this video: Most Minecraft worlds do not last forever. You and your friends start a new world, play it constantly for around two weeks, and then slowly move on to something else. If that sounds familiar, these mods can make your next Minecraft session feel completely different without losing what makes survival Minecraft fun.

First things first, consider using a modpack instead of building your own mod list. A good modpack gives you a complete experience where the mods are already compatible, configured, and designed to work together. You can spend less time troubleshooting and more time actually playing. Seriously, use a modpack. It is usually the easiest way to start a modded world with friends.

If you are putting together your own selection, Biomes O’ Plenty is a great place to start. It adds tons of new biomes and gives you more interesting places to explore, build, and establish your base. You should also add a few quality-of-life mods. Just Enough Items makes it much easier to view recipes, Iris lets you use shaders, JourneyMap helps you navigate your world, and Boss Checklist gives you another form of progression to follow.

From there, Trek is worth trying if you want your session to focus more on exploration and adventure. Friends & Foes expands the game with mobs based on ideas from past Minecraft mob votes, helping the world feel more varied without moving too far away from vanilla Minecraft.

For something more technical, Tech Reborn adds machines, power generation, automation, and resource processing. It gives you and your friends larger projects to work toward and can keep a world interesting after the normal early-game progression is finished.

Last but not least, Quark adds a huge collection of smaller features throughout Minecraft. Rather than changing the game around one massive system, it improves building, exploration, storage, automation, and other parts of the vanilla experience. This makes it a great choice when you want more content without making Minecraft feel like a completely different game.

With that, there are six mods and modding ideas to try during your next two-week Minecraft session. Which mods do you always include when starting a new world? Let us know in the comments.

Otherwise, be sure to give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already. It really helps us out, and it means a ton to me. Thanks in advance!
