U.S. President Donald Trump earlier this week sent out letters announcing new tariff conditions, targeting some of America’s closest allies.

Although the tariff rates remain largely unchanged from those announced in April, the new deadline to strike a deal with the U.S. is now Aug. 1.

Market reaction was muted in Asia following the announcement, with some analysts suggesting that investors are betting on TACO ("Trump always chickens out").
