In this video, we will analyze and review the 3 different types of True Hearts diamond cutting styles: round, princess and cushion. If you don't know yet, the True Hearts signature line is a premier selection of diamonds by James Allen. These diamonds are curated for their superior light performance and must undergo a selection process.
The True Hearts round brilliant diamonds must achieve a certain level of cut quality and light performance. They must also be graded by either GIA or AGS. In most listings, you are also provided with the idealscope and hearts patterning imagery of the loose diamond. These data help you analyze the diamond's precision and optical symmetry.
For the princess square cut True Hearts diamonds, they must be certified by AGS with a triple ideal rating 000. This ensures a scientifically proven level of light performance that the diamond generates. In general, the princess cut diamonds are the cheapest shape out of the 3. So, if you are on a tight budget and want to hit the "magical" 1 carat mark, choosing a princess cut diamond would lower prices and get you better bang for buck.
For the cushion cut True Hearts diamond, they must be certified by AGS as a triple ideal just like the princess cut diamonds. One unique thing about the James Allen True Hearts cushions is that they have a facet patterning structure which is different from the way most cushions are cut.
The James Allen TH cushion cuts tend to have smaller flashes of light return and scintillation patterning but yet, offer strong light return to the eyes. It is ideal for people who want a softer appearance to their engagement rings and have a pillow shape outline.
All in all, all 3 types of True Hearts diamonds have a distinct appearance but there is one thing that is similar amongst them; and that is light performance. Notice the amount of sparkle, brilliance and fire in EACH of these three engagement rings as they are viewed under different types of lighting.
Having better cut quality enables the diamonds to look white and help mask inclusions. You will notice this in the natural daylight environment during the comparisons. Personally, I love the round shape the most as it has the best light performance due to its inherent shape.
