I recently picked up this TRS-80 Model 1 but was having trouble getting the expansion interface to work. I figured out why and it's a fairly simple repair!

This should work with most older style 40 pin IDE cables. You won't want to do it with an 80 pin EIDE cable. And you should probably not make the cable as long as I did, I really only did that to make it easier to postion for filming in the future.
