Triangle Strategy may just be the stupidest name for a game I've heard in years! But what it lack in its title, it makes up for in what really matters; being a good video game. Developed by Square Enix, Triangle Strategy is a SRPG with a combat system like FF Tactics, a story like Game of Thrones, and an art style like Octopath Traveler. Three awesome pieces of media, how can you go wrong, right? Triangle Strategy tells an engaging political story and has a great strategic combat system, presented with all that nostagiaey goodness. So if you’re a fan of the SRPG genre, this is definitely a title worth playing.

Unless you’ve grown up in Japan, you may be unaware how massive the Megami Tensei series is. Since 1987, there’s been 18 releases, and re-releases of the main series, and even more spinoff series including Persona, Devil Survivor and Digital Devil Saga. The latest in this massive series is Shin Megami Tensei V, released as a Switch exclusive in late 2021.
If you’re new to the series, then SMTV is a great place to start, as there’s no requirements to have played any of the previous games, plus, it’s bloody addictive!
It didnt quite win the 2021 RPG of the year award, but it was close. Watch this review to find out why!

The JRPG genre has been evolving for around 40 years now. It has seen its share of ups and downs, but right now, its arguably in the best place that it has ever been. Since the early 80s, we’ve seen the releases of 1000s of JRPGs, or JRPG style titles, from hundreds of different developers, but it goes without saying that not all of them are created equally.
This series is going to look at the very best JRPGs ever made, or at least, my favorite. This is my personal top 100 JRPGs of all time! The original Bravely Default is a title that I have always wanted to play, but never got around to it due to me not really being a handheld gamer. This really disappointed me, as I have always been a HUGE fan of job systems in RPGs, which is something that fans of the series praise, as the stand out mechanic.
As you would expect, this acclaimed job system, as well as the unique Brave and Default battle mechanics, all make a return, and just like in the original, these are the standout features of Bravely default 2.
Now, despite what the name suggests, Bravely Default 2, is actually the third title in the series.
As soon as I started up the game, I immediately felt some old school vibes. Bravely Default 2 reminded me of the Super Nintendo era Final Fantasy games I used to love, all those years ago.
For those of you after an old school style JRPG, with a highly addictive job and combat system, then Bravely Default II, may be worth checking out.

Lunar 2: Eternal Blue! If you’re a JRPG veteran, chances are that you’ve plated this classic in the past. If not, then I’m so happy that you can now experience the HD remaster on modern consoles.
Lunar 2 Eternal Blue is THE classic JRPG experience, in every way imaginable. Personally, I played this classic about 20 years ago, and I didn’t remember much at all, but in many ways, it truly is a timeless classic.
If you’re a fan of Retro style JRPGs, both Lunar 1 and 2, come highly recommented.
