GAME DESCRIPTION:
Hope's Peak Academy is home to Japan's best and brightest high school students—the beacons of hope for the future. But that hope suddenly dies when Makoto Naegi and his classmates find themselves imprisoned in the school, cut off from the outside world and subject to the whims of a strange, murderous little bear named Monokuma. He pits the students against each other, promising freedom to anyone who can murder a fellow classmate and get away with it.
It's up to you to find out who Monokuma really is, and why you've been taken from the world you once knew. But be careful what you wish for—sometimes there’s nothing more deadly than the truth...
Key Features
Daily Life, Deadly Life: Trapped in a school-turned-prison, students are murdering each other one by one. You’ll have to investigate each incident, search for clues, and talk to your classmates to try and get to the bottom of each brutal case!
Mock Trial: The nefarious Monokuma serves as judge, jury, and executioner as you engage in deadly wordplay, going back and forth with suspects, dissecting their statements and firing their words back at them to expose their lies!
Popularity Contest: Sway classmates to your side in each investigation, squeezing information from them to figure out who did it. And when you do, turn up the heat in a variety of timing and reflex-based game systems to uncover the truth and save your skin!
Steam Features: Supports Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud and Steam Trading Cards.

Honour Modes been a heck of a time, and now after so very long playing on and off Ive finally proved to myself it IS indeed possible to beat an HM challenge run without using elixirs, respecs, (excessive) barrelmancy, levelling or even party members. Safe to say Im really looking forward to continuing the sane co-op runs I have going with my friends, my Mum, and my own for-fun modded escapades in Patch 7 (praise be!).
Just in case it wasnt clear enough, Ill repeat it here one last time for the folks at the back. I rib a lot in this video, most of which is engine or adaptation based - about 90% is jest, so do take my sass with some salt. This old bag of bones does sincerely like BG3, and Ive loved Larian Studios for over 2 decades now - they made some of my modern faves (Divinity: Original Sin 2) and games that shaped my tastes growing up (Divine Divinity, represent!).
The game still has some wobbly points, actually quite a lot as you get deeper in (almost like public EA development pushes a lot of focus to the early segments and risks the latter portions). But its still undeniably great by modern standards and deserved a lot of the praise it garnered.
A lot of the gripes I hold arent Larrys fault, theyre consequences of time cuts (ostensibly to not release-compete with Starfield of all things. LOL) and after some less-than-great treatment by WotC...no surprises there. Theyve also done an ADMIRABLE amount of work patching up the product after the fact. They even fixed my biggest single gripe in Patch 5/6, finally making the non-lethal knockout system actually function (mostly)!
But even if its more to gaming overall that Larry directly - I still think Im within rights to say as a consumer I wouldve just personally preferred something a bit more consistently spread; an opinion thats thankfully now safe to say - since at release it was considered heresy to be punished in flames.
Hats off to you, Larry. See you in Rivellon!
