Baldur's Gate 3 and I have...a strange relationship.

Honour Mode's been a heck of a time, and now after so very long playing on and off I've finally proved to myself it IS indeed possible to beat an HM challenge run without using elixirs, respecs, (excessive) barrelmancy, levelling or even party members. Safe to say I'm really looking forward to continuing the sane co-op runs I have going with my friends, my Mum, and my own for-fun modded escapades in Patch 7 (praise be!).
Just in case it wasn't clear enough, I'll repeat it here one last time for the folks at the back. I rib a lot in this video, most of which is engine or adaptation based - about 90% is jest, so do take my sass with some salt. This old bag of bones does sincerely like BG3, and I've loved Larian Studios for over 2 decades now - they made some of my modern faves (Divinity: Original Sin 2) and games that shaped my tastes growing up (Divine Divinity, represent!).
The game still has some wobbly points, actually quite a lot as you get deeper in (almost like public EA development pushes a lot of focus to the early segments and risks the latter portions). But it's still undeniably great by modern standards and deserved a lot of the praise it garnered.
A lot of the gripes I hold aren't Larry's fault, they're consequences of time cuts (ostensibly to not release-compete with Starfield of all things. LOL) and after some less-than-great treatment by WotC...no surprises there. They've also done an ADMIRABLE amount of work patching up the product after the fact. They even fixed my biggest single gripe in Patch 5/6, finally making the non-lethal knockout system actually function (mostly)!
But even if it's more to gaming overall that Larry directly - I still think I'm within rights to say as a consumer I would've just personally preferred something a bit more consistently spread; an opinion that's thankfully now safe to say - since at release it was considered heresy to be punished in flames.
