My kiddos and I won a net!
This is a pretty big deal in my household right now. I made a video to capture the start of the treehouse/tree-net project. I’ve been working the last two weeks on plans and started acquiring materials.
Yesterday I made a trip to town to buy all the treated lumber needed for the platform as well as some fasteners. I also doubled up and picked up all the material for the chicken run - which needs to be put up as soon as the frost is out. This made for a painfully long trip. Right now the lumber is stacked in the shop (basically a dehumidification kiln) and will remain there for 5 weeks.
The second part of building up an inventory of parts was a few clicks on the computer. Tree attachment points, commonly referred to as just TAB, are the latest and likely to remain the greatest way to attach structure to living tree. After a bit of research I settled on a proven product from a supplier with a good reputation. My design is also proven and overbuilt - I want a structure that can support as many people as it will fit and last five decades.
And the net; it will be a shrinking net supplied from @pucudanetting and will be made to fit a specific spot in the trees. Very cool! Big shout out to @thenettingexpert for choosing my family to receive the net - we are really excited!
