These tiny Treehoppers are called Horiola picta with eggs and nymphs in the family Membracidae from the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador. Treehoppers are insects related to cicadas and leafhoppers. Most treehoppers have a highly modified pronotum on the back. Treehoppers feed on plant sap which is rich in sugar. Excess sap is concentrated as honeydew, which in this video attracts ants feeding on it and protecting the Treehoppers from predators.
